BLUE-GREEN ALGAE HEALTH BENEFITS
We use our Organic Upper Klamath Lake Blue-Green Algae powder to supercharge these tasty recipes. Officially known as Aphanizomenon flos-aquae or AFA, this form of algaeis one of nature’s most regenerative food sources. It grows naturally in the pristine and mineral-rich waters of Upper Klamath Lake in Oregon. Its balanced and complete nutrient profile gives it the remarkable capacity to help nurture our physical and mental health. It is also one of the world’s most concentrated sources of chlorophyll, a valuable phytonutrient considered by many to be a valuable cleansing compound. To top it off, blue green algae contains peptide molecules that have been shown to enhance and heighten mental clarity. Not to mention the special pigment called phycocyanin that gives it that radiant blue-green color. Phycocyanin has been shown to support a healthy inflammation response and is a powerful antioxidant.
With this long list of benefits, now you can see why we love our blue-green algae and went to work to create some delicious recipes for you to try. Keep in mind, you can also go the simple route and mix your blue-green algae in water or your favorite smoothie. But if you’re in the mood for something new, we hope you enjoy these sweet algae treats. Bon appétit!
BLUE-GREEN ALGAE NICE CREAM
Nothing says summer like some sweet ice cream. This vegan superfood version is super simple. It’s packed with healthy fats
from coconut milk, potassium from bananas, and protein, vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients from the blue-green algae.
With a hint of green color and flavor, this isn’t your ordinary ice cream. But it is extraordinarily creamy and tasty, and, of course, healthy!
Makes 4-6 Servings:
4-5 ripe frozen bananas
1 can full-fat coconut milk
4 tbsp raw honey
2 tbsp Pure Synergy® Organic Blue-Green Algae Powder
Chill coconut milk upside-down in the refrigerator overnight. If short on time, freeze for 10-15 minutes.
Drain and set aside the liquid from your canned coconut milk, leaving you with the coconut cream. Add the coconut cream to your blender.
Add remaining ingredients to blender (using remaining coconut milk liquid for desired consistency) and mix until creamy.
Enjoy immediately or freeze. Thaw for 5 minutes at room temperature. Scoop and enjoy!

the lemon and lime and the earthy flavor of the algae powder.

3 tsp Pure Synergy® Organic Blue-Green Algae powder

2 tbsp raw honey (more or less to taste)
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
Popsicle mold of your choice
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Add more honey for desired sweetness. Pour into molds and freeze for 30 minutes,
then add sticks and freeze overnight. To remove from molds, thaw at room temperature for a few minutes. Enjoy!
