Glorious Granitas

Granitas, also called Italian Ices, are one of the greatest inventions for a sweltering summer day. They not only taste heavenly, they also refresh our hot-and-bothered spirits since they’re like snow-cones for grown-ups. The best part is that granitas are easy to make from any pureed fruit, and we can give them an antioxidant, nutrition, and color boost with PURE SYNERGY® superfood powders.

Regardless of the fruit or recipe that you choose, the cooking instructions are basically the same. First, add all the ingredients to a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into a large baking dish so that the liquid is no more than half an inch deep. Place into the freezer for about a half an hour, then use a fork to scrape the top and sides of the mixture to create ice shavings. Place back into the freezer then, every 30 minutes, scrape with the fork until it converts completely into light and fluffy ice crystals. Keep it in the freezer until you’re ready to serve. Place the fruity masterpiece into bowls and enjoy this refreshing, ice-cold dessert.

 

Watermelon Berry Granita

5 cups watermelon chunks
2 tbsp Organic Berry Power™ powder
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

Mango Carrot Granita

4 cups chopped mango
1 can full-fat coconut milk
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp Organic Carrot Juice Powder

Cucumber Matcha Granita

4 cups peeled & chopped cucumber
3-4 sprigs mint leaves
1 tbsp Organic Matcha Power® powder
3-4 tbsp raw honey (to taste)

Kiwi Basil Nettle Ice

5 kiwis, peeled and quartered
Handful of fresh basil leaves
1 tbsp Organic Freeze-Fried Nettle Leaf powder
2-3 tbsp raw honey (to taste)
