A business doesn’t exist inside a bubble. It has a deep, multifaceted connection to the community that provides it with the employees, resources, and support that it needs to flourish.
This is especially true for The Synergy Company. We are located in the small, rural town of Moab, Utah where the unemployment rate is higher than the state average. Our company has grown tremendously since its founding and has become one of the largest full-time, private employers in our small town of less than 6,000 people. And while many business experts and financial advisors would tell us we would be even more successful and profitable if we moved our facilities to a larger city location that might be more economically favorable to conducting business, we would never consider such a thing. The reason is simple. We deeply care about our neighbors and our community, and we also know we owe much of our success to the dedication and hard work of our family of Moab employees. Unlike so many companies today, we feel a very real responsibility to our employees, and we both honor and reward their service to us with our continued commitment to them, and our commitment to remaining in this locale as we grow.
Our Focus is Local
To show our appreciation for our local community, The Synergy Company issues annual donations, grants, and sponsorships to many locally based organizations and nonprofits. We have a “Community Giving” team dedicated to our local Giving Back mission, which includes our Employee’s Choice program where our company makes a meaningful donation on behalf of each and every employee to a local nonprofit of their choice. Here’s a list of local organizations receiving Synergy’s heartfelt thanks and support:
- Wabi Sabi Community Meals Program
- Interact Club
- BEACON Afterschool
- Grand Area Mentoring
- Moab Free Health Clinic
- Grand County Family Support Center
- Reality Town – Grand County Middle School
- KZMU Community Radio
- Moab Senior Games
- Canyonlands Recycling Center
- Grand County Education Foundation
- Grand County Hospice
- Grand County Humane Society
- Moab Valley Multicultural Center
- Seekhaven Women’s Shelter
- Youth Garden Project
- Grand County High School Athletic Programs
Although we tend to focus our giving on our local community that has given us so much, over the years we have also supported several international humanitarian and cultural programs. In 2011, we donated over $1.6 million of our Pure Synergy Superfood to Japan in the wake of their devastating earthquake and tsunami. Read more about this global outreach. We define “giving back” as both a responsibility and a privilege. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the helping hands of the community that surrounds us and embraces us.
